As Head of Research at the Whole Health Oncology Institute (WHOi), Ryan Castle has been a driving force behind the research, structure, and implementation strategies that power the Cancer Playbook. One of his most critical contributions has been his role in the development of the Cancer Playbook Agent (Interactive Bot)—a first-of-its-kind system designed to respond to patient questions using tagged research and patient-reported outcomes.

With no existing roadmap, Jamie and Ryan personally took on the challenge, spending several weeks deep in the learning and buildout process of an entirely new platform. Ryan’s dedication to technical adaptation, research mapping, and creative problem-solving was key to transforming a bold concept into a functional, supportive tool for patients.

In addition to his work on the Playbook Agent, Ryan has been instrumental in helping WHOi translate complex medical research into clear, digestible education for the Cancer Playbook website. His ability to make scientific knowledge approachable ensures patients can access meaningful, evidence-informed guidance at every step.
